Visitor Visas

Australian government welcomes tourists and visitors from overseas who would like to do business, holiday or visit close family members, friends who are living in Australia. Depending on the country of your passport, you may be either eligible for an Electronic Travel Authority or you will be required to apply for a Visitor Visa before travelling to Australia.

The Visitor visa program is made up of three subclasses, the ETA (subclass 601), the eVisitor visa (subclass 651) and the Visitor visa (subclass 600). The Visitor visa (subclass 600) has five streams, the Tourist stream, the Sponsored Family stream, the Business Visitor stream, the Approved Destination Status (ADS) stream and the Frequent Traveller stream. The below table outlines the activities allowed by each subclass and stream, and the location of the client at time of lodgement.
